In our obsession with technological progress, we have allowed ourselves (and our world) to become prosaic and pragmatic (is there a more depressing couple of words in the whole English language than ‘solutions-focused’?) We have forgotten that the imagination, the arts and creativity speak truth just as powerfully – through both the creative process and its ‘results’. The urge to make and create is the urge to see and be part of working for a better world. It’s a response to the divine spark and trace within all of us: the gift of seeing things others do not, and then giving them shape and form. So here’s to making room for the imagination, the prophetic, the unusual, the never-tried or seen-before. Here’s to the unexpected.
