Born in Pennsylvania and raised in New Jersey, Yvonne Battle-Felton received a Northern Writers' Award in 2017 for her debut novel Remembered, which was subsequently longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction this year. In Remembered Yvonne explores the generational and long-lasting shadows cast and traumas inflicted as a result of the legacies of the transatlantic slave trade. She is also a lecturer at Lancaster University.#gb19 #WitAndWisdom 😄🤔
