Glastonbury Festival 2025: here’s a few interesting numbers…
Over the Glastonbury Festival long weekend there are 3,876 separate listed performance slots, featuring 2,435 artists or curators (or sometimes films, or maybe something totally ‘other’) across 92 venues.
We know, we’ve counted them.
If these took place non-stop on one stage with just ten-minute breaks between shows the festival would last for 214 days… that’s around 7 months.
(We let AI do that maths for us…)
Between the opening of the Apocalypse Museum at 10am on Wednesday and the final whistle at 5am on Monday morning (as Chris Tofu spins the festival’s last tune…after a total of six sets over the weekend), we’ve worked out there are only 15 hours in total across the five days when you can take a nap in the knowledge you aren’t missing something.
The first live performance will be an open mic session at the Croissant Neuf Bandstand on Wednesday morning at 11am…we suggest everyone heads down to get some moshpit/crowdsurfing action going to kick things off with a proper Glastonbury bang.
The first named band of the festival will also be on the Croissant Neuf Bandstand the same day, following on from the open mic session and properly opening the festival at 12:00.
They are Oakley Starr, a two-piece Gothic Americana act made up of Lauren Jennifer and Ziggy Phoenix – and one of the acts chosen by the festival through the emerging talent competition.

The latest/earliest show on any day by a live band at the festival are Colombia’s Los Fuckin’ Surfer Smokers, who take to the stage at the ungodly hour of 5:15 on Sunday morning…not bad for a band playing six times over the festival.
We love their fast surf-frenzy style!
But it’s not just the small acts playing loads… you can catch Fatboy Slim three times at Glastonbury this year if you have the stamina.
…although speaking of stamina we have to applaud the New York Brass Band for a total of nine sets over four days….wrapping up just before Los Fuckin’ Surfer Smokers on the Monday morning…
There are 52 slots listed as still to be confirmed…but there are several acts listed who ‘don’t exist’ and are expected to be very special guests…
We could only find one live band that starts with a number – festival favourites (playing furious folk) 3 Daft Monkeys, who are playing four shows:
| ANCIENT FUTURES | THURSDAY | 26/06/2025 | 09:00 | 09:30 |
| BIMBLE INN | FRIDAY | 27/06/2025 | 09:00 | 09:30 |
| SMALL WORLD STAGE | SATURDAY | 28/06/2025 | 09:00 | 09:30 |
| THE BANDSTAND | SATURDAY | 28/06/2025 | 09:00 | 09:30 |
Somewhere along the line you need to pause to eat at Glastonbury, and that’s all taken care of very nicely, because last time we counted there were 375 food stalls dotted around the site.
When we say we counted them…we actually visited them all in person.
You can see them (and their menus) HERE.
As we finds more funs stats we will add them here.
In the meantime, here’s our festival playlist for 2025 – who have we missed that you will be seeing?
