Shiiine On Weekender – Minehead

Shiiine On is a November weekender at Butlin’s in Minehead, built around the indie, Britpop, baggy and shoegaze bands of the late 80s and 90s. Guests stay in the resort’s chalets and apartments, with the gigs a short walk away.Expect reformed favourites, cult bands and a few newer names in the same spirit, plus DJs and club nights that run late. It’s a reunion for a generation that went to Reading in the 90s, and the atmosphere is friendly and nostalgic.

There is no shortage of swagger at the Shiiine On Weekender. Whether festival-goers are up for rowdy guitars or a rave (or both), they will find it here. Celebrating indie and dance music from the late 80s and 90s, this huge weekend relives the era when clubbers and gig-goers came together in a decade-long party.

Beyond the live music, plenty of activities keep attendees entertained between sets, including Indie Bingo, quizzes, big-screen sport, Tenpin Bowling, and American Pool. When it comes to dress code, festival fancy dress is best left at home — the event is all about band tees, trainers, and feeling relaxed.

Music lovers ...prepare to Shiiine On all weekend long.
