About
Shambala has run since 2000 on a country estate in Northamptonshire whose name the festival kept quiet for years: Kelmarsh Hall. It takes place over the August bank holiday weekend.
It's independent and serious about sustainability, with no meat or fish sold on site, no corporate sponsors and no single-use plastic. The music covers folk, world, bass and techno, alongside workshops, talks, theatre and a fancy dress theme that most people take seriously. It suits families and grown-ups who like to dress up.
