About
Rebellion is the biggest punk festival in the world. It began in 1996 as Holidays in the Sun and has made Blackpool's Winter Gardens its home, taking over the building for four days in early August.
The Empress Ballroom, the Opera House and the other rooms run from first-wave '77 bands and Oi! to hardcore, ska and acoustic sets, with a literary stage for talks and readings. The audience spans several generations, and for the week the seafront fills with mohicans and leather.
