Lowlands

Lowlands started in 1993 and takes over the event grounds at Biddinghuizen, on reclaimed land in Flevoland, at the end of August. It's the Netherlands' biggest alternative music festival.

Music runs from indie and rock to rap, electronic and pop, along with comedy, theatre, film, art and science. Most people camp, and the crowd comes back year after year. The name is short for its original title, A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise, and the big tents are named after letters of the phonetic alphabet.
