Into The Great Wide Open started in 2009 on Vlieland, one of the Dutch Wadden Islands, reached by ferry from Harlingen.
The island has almost no cars, so everyone cycles between stages in the woods, dunes and on the beach. The music is indie, folk, rock and electronic, with art and theatre too. It's small and relaxed.
