About
Iceland Airwaves started in ReykjavĂk in 1999 and takes place in early November. The first one was held in an aircraft hangar; now it fills the city's venues.
The bill is mostly new Icelandic and international music, in indie, pop, electronic and rap. It's a good excuse to visit Iceland in winter. Shows take place in clubs, bars, churches and the Harpa concert hall, all walkable in the compact city centre, and free off-venue gigs in bars and shops are a tradition.
