FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS: Wildfire Sessions – The Movie – 2011-2021 10th Anniversary Celebration

Festivals and gigs. A listings calendar, plus previews, news, reviews, and photos

This movie celebrates 10 years of Wildfire Sessions – initially an Acoustic Open Mic events service that grew into so much more. With a small team of hosts, admin staff, radio and magazine contacts we went on to also run and promote a range of gigs, festivals, all dayers and showcases accross the East Midlands providing live music for pubs, venues and functions. It provided a platform for both established artists as well as inexperienced acts who could gain experience on the live music stage, nurture their talents and provide them with gigging opportunites. We did focus alot on acoustic artists as hosting these events mainly in the small pub environment this was a far more user friendly format but as we branched out so did our genres – touching everything from folk, reggae, indie, rock and metal.
The movie was made with help from Rehan 14 Video Productions and it includes songs by acts who have submitted special birthday mesages as well as a range of highlights I have picked from the archives. There’s so many more artists and key people that could have featured in this but hopefully it will give you a taster of a great decade of live music. Wildfire Sessions events were always a good place to network, soclaise and meet friends – something we all have been missing over the last year or so with COVID. Whilst I now will be continuing to focus more on my own music and my band Stevie Jones and The Wildfires I certainly will be hosting some events as we ease out of restrictions over the coming months so keep an eye out. Anyways hope you enjoy – it’s 1 hour 40 mins long so feel free to watch it any time and dip in and out at your leisure (Clip listing below). Thanks for the support, stay safe and hope to see you back at a gig again soon. Stevie X-X-X
