V Festival returns for its fourteenth year with a truly heavyweight line-up for 2009.

Sponsored by Virgin Media, V promises a bill of must see acts with some of the biggest and best names in music today.

Over the 22 and 23 August at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire, festival goers will unite once again for a weekend to remember culminating with mighty headliners The Killers and Oasis.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 6 March and music fans are being advised to contact official ticket outlets fast.

A collection of music’s elite has signed up to give V the best bill yet. artists old and new will entertain music aficionados and festival debutantes alike giving them one hell of an experience. Headliners Oasis and The Killers, V icons Razorlight and Snow Patrol, other favourites including music maestros such as Fatboy Slim, Keane, The Specials, Elbow as well as festival newcomers like Pendulum, The Tings Tings, MGMT and Lady Ga Ga will be lighting up both sites.

The Virgin Media Union stage sees lyrical genius Peter Doherty take to the stage and will be joined by a host of other exciting acts to be announced in the coming weeks. Strongbow and Bacardi are also back with a bang this year with exciting news of their offerings to be announced soon.

Festival Director, Bob Angus said: “We’re genuinely thrilled to have such an eclectic line-up this year. Our headliners, The Killers and Oasis, are two of the biggest acts in music today and with them being joined by some really exuberant newcomers, this summer’s V Festival is set to give festival fans something to shout about.”

Offering a bill of predominantly commercial acts, crowd favourites, and radio friendly indie upstarts in a party atmosphere. V Festival returns on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd August 2009.

Headlining on the Saturday will be The Killers and Sunday it’s the turn of Oasis. The main stage will also see Razorlight, The Specials, Lily Allen, The Script, Taylor Swift, Snow Patrol, Elbow, James, Biffy Clyro, James Morrison, and Ocean Colour Scene.

The 4 Music Stage has Fatboy Slim, Pendulum, The Ting Tings, The Wombats, Dizzee Rascal, Keane, The Enemy, Paolo Nutini, and Katy Perry.

The Arena Stage has Lady Gaga, Happy Mondays, Ladyhawke, The Human League, The Saturdays, MGMT, and The Streets.

The acts announced for the Virgin Mobile Union Stage include Pete Doherty, British Seapower, Alphabeat, The Twang, Mystery Jets, Gary Go, and more.
