“Ein verheißungsvoller Start in das Festival” (Seen and Heard International)

VOCES8 eröffnete Live From London Spring mit einem Programm voller Musik, die in der Natur verwurzelt ist – von extravaganten elisabethanischen Idyllen, die für die Königin ‘Oriana’ geschaffen wurden, bis hin zu Alec Roths entrücktem und schwebendem “Stargazer” und Kate Rusbys “Underneath the Stars”. Im Mittelpunkt stand Jonathan Doves halbstündiger Liederzyklus “The Passing of the Year”, bei dem VOCES8 vom Komponisten selbst am Klavier begleitet wurde. Hier sind einige der Highlights!

“An auspicious start to the festival” (Seen and Heard International)

VOCES8 kicked off Live From London Spring with a programme of music rooted in nature – from extravagant Elizabethan idylls styled for queen ‘Oriana’, to Alec Roth’s rapt and soaring ‘Stargazer’ and Kate Rusby’s ‘Underneath the Stars’. The centre-piece was Jonathan Dove’s half-hour song cycle ‘The Passing of the Year’ for which VOCES8 was joined by the composer himself at the piano. Here’s some of the highlights!
