‘Mardala Trio’ is a percussion ensemble envisioned by mardala maestro Guru Dhaneswar Swain and features his disciples, who form part of the Vadya Vani Gurukula. The performance at the Chhandabibha Festival marks the first time the trio featured a female mardala artiste.
Chhandabibha Festival was a dance and music festival organized by Odissi Dance Creation, an institute founded by Guru Pankaj Kumar Pradhan. The festival was held in Bhubaneswar in February 2023.
