City Music Singapore, KORG Singapore and Popular are pleased to present the second instalment of the Korg Junior Piano Competition 2019, and the announcement of this year’s winner: Natalie Tan! 🎉
The now-annual digital piano competition was first conceived as a joint collaboration back in 2018, where it was met with such enthusiastic and wildly talented participation from these budding virtuosos.
Convinced to raise the bar to make 2019: bigger, bolder and better. We increased the age limit (from 10 to 12 years old), and received 80 successful registrants that participated during our 2-day auditions at POP@Central, Popular Bookstore at Brash Basah!
The grand finals took place at BookFest@Singapore 2019! At the largest annual book festival in Singapore, 15 carefully selected semi-finalists had an chance of a lifetime to showcase their musical talents on a nationwide stage! With a grand prize pool of over $4,000 — including the grand prize of the Korg G1 Air, and other fabulous prizes provided by our sponsors and Korg to guarantee that nobody went home empty-handed.
Our warmest thanks to everyone who have participated in 2019’s Korg Junior Piano Competition, were a spectator during our event, or patronised the Korg Booth during Bookfest.
