The Austin City Limits Music Festival was founded in 2002. It was located in Zilker Park in Austin, Texas, and based on the PBS music program Austin City Limits, which aired since the show debuted on January 3, 1976. In 2011, the Austin City Limits Music Festival celebrated its 10th anniversary, and the Austin City Limits Music Festival celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2016. Due to the global pandemic in 2020, the Austin City Limits Music Festival celebrated its 20th anniversary.
