End of the Road Festival

End of the Road started in 2006 at Larmer Tree Gardens, a Victorian pleasure garden on the Dorset-Wiltshire border, and is still there. Peacocks wander the paths, the stages are tucked into gardens and woods, and the capacity is kept small enough that it never feels crowded.

The booking is the draw: indie, folk, psych, Americana, experimental and alternative music, picked by people who clearly listen to a lot of records, with plenty of acts on their first UK festival dates. There's also film, comedy, talks and a good kids' area. It closes the summer at the end of August or start of September.
