Saxophonist Harry Weir tells us all about his new band Blue Boar Brass – a contemporary jazz-hip hop outfit with some of the most exciting young players coming out of the Glasgow jazz scene. Influenced by the individual style of Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and El Michels Affair, they play with huge drive and attack.

Their gig, which premieres this Friday alongside a set from fellow Glasgow band Mezcla, includes originals as well as covers of songs by Björk, Kanye West and System of a Down, with incredible singer Rachel Lightbody joining as a special guest.
