Latest Festival Flyer update from Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival
[ad_1]

A spontaneous standing ovation for a previously unheard work would be worthy of note at any time. The alto saxophonist is one of Scotland’s finest jazz musicians, with interests across a range of styles. He’s also one of our foremost composers, and he follows up his “Hero As Riddle” triumph, with a new work inspired by American novelist, David Foster Wallace. Martin's Octet features: Sean Gibbs (trumpet) Adam Jackson (alto sax), Martin Kershaw (saxes), Chris Greive (trombone), Graeme Stephen (guitar), Paul Harrison (piano), Calum Gourlay (bass) and Doug Hough (drums).
"…as carefully structured and full of wit as the best prose writing..a compelling narrative…" (Keith Bruce – Herald Scotland).
Recorded for EJBF 2018 at Piccolo
Supported through The Scottish Government’s Festivals Expo Fund
Shot by 8 Acre Films
