Did you tune in?
A great night for Jazz on BBC Four last night:
The incredible Soweto Kinch presented "Jazzology" – a very insightful and thought-provoking short documentary taking us on a personal journey into jazz and its history, through New Orleans, New York and London.
Just amazing! We hope more of these docs will be commissioned by the BBC going forward, perhaps digging into how the art form has developed and what meaning it holds around the world today.
If you missed it, you can see it again here: http://bit.ly/Jazzology
The documentary was followed by the BBC Young Jazz Musician Award finals, which included Scottish rising star Fergus McCreadie – Pianist (who played a amazing short set showcasing his outstanding virtuosity and skills).
Despite not taking home the award (competition was incredibly high!), we're very proud of Fergus for making it so far at such a young age and for being chosen to represent la creme of young talents in the country, with just a handful of other incredible young musicians. We wish him all the best for his future career.
If you missed this, you can catch Fergus' set here: http://bit.ly/BBCfinalYoung
Well done BBC – more of this soon please!

I wish we could watch this in the US. 😪
The standard was impossibly high. No idea how they could choose between them. Of course I was rooting for Fergus McCreadie!
