  1. Now, if they could only find a way to persuade the new generation of festival goers to take home their tents, sleeping bags etc.

    I was horrified by the number of people who just walked away and left all their camping stuff and other rubbish when I went to Glasto a couple of years ago.
    When I was a young whippersnapper and we went, camping equipment was expensive and you took it home with you because you couldn’t afford not to. Now you can get a pop-up tent for a tenner and kit it out like Buck House for under fifty quid; so the whippersnappers of today regard them as disposable.
