A Greener Deer Shed 🌱
Deer Shed is starting its journey, working with A Greener Festival – (https://www.agreenerfestival.com/), to assess our sustainability.
We are asking artists, audience, staff, contractors and vendors to give details of their transport & journey times.
We have also switched to using HVO bio oil in our generators and are working together with Yorwaste to increase our recycling. What we can’t recycle is used in their waste-to-energy power station. We’re also working with a local community organisation to donate any left over food from vendors and all oil is re-cycled 🌳
We have increased the vegetarian & vegan offer on site & all backstage food is veggie, while this years merch is all organic & sustainably sourced.
We continue with our no single use plastic & cup scheme, and as part of our ‘A Greener Festival’ relationship, we are assessing our carbon foot print at the 2022 event.
Ultimately we aim to strive toward carbon neutrality in the future, and this is the start of formally measuring & then committing to this 🌍🌿
