Press Release: Americana music is defined by authenticity and there is no one more authentically Americana than Richie Owens. Born into a family already deeply rooted in traditional country music, his grandfather was a renowned Smoky Mountain fiddle player and a fire and brimstone Baptist preacher. His Father and uncle were musicians, songwriters and Nashville music business insiders who guided the career of Richie’s cousin Dolly Parton. Growing up among country music royalty ultimately led to Richie working with just about everyone in Nashville. He has produced records for artists as diverse as the Kentucky Headhunters and the Georgia Satellites, toured with and produced records by Dolly Parton and even lent his expertise to recordings by the Rolling Stones. Until recently the only place you could hear Richie Owens and the Farm Bureau would have been in a dive bar in East Nashville crammed to the rafters with folks who know the real thing when they see it. After the unexpected UK success of their last project “Reconstruction”, Richie was asked to bring the band over for some select festival and club dates in England. This summer, true Americana fans in the UK will finally get to see and hear what the critics have been raving about for decades. Richie Owens, the King of the “Nashville Modern Traditionalists” movement, is bringing the most authentic working bar band in America to the festival stages of England. Tour details to follow…
