FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS: Montreux Jazz Festival | 2005
The 39th edition of the Festival attracts some 220,000 visitors in spite of very temperamental weather. Stravinski audiences are treated to The Corrs, James Blunt, Robert Cray, Garbage, Kraftwerk, Laura Pausini and such legendary artists as Crosby Stills & Nash, Brian Wilson, Booker T & The MGs, Oscar Peterson, Patti Smith and Roberta Flack. The Miles Davis Hall hosts Barrington Levy, The Hives, Sly & Robbie, Audioslave and the Young Gods while the Casino highlights the voices of Tori Amos, Marianne Faithfull, Dianne Reeves, Cassandra Wilson and Juliette Gréco. Jazz is solidly represented by McCoy Tyner, Jean-Luc Ponty, Bobby McFerrin, George Duke and David Sanborn.
