FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS: Making Music Virtual Concert Series | Concert 01

The best festival listings calendar, previews, reviews, and photos

Welcome to the very first Making Music Virtual Concert! With many leisure-time music groups unable to meet together or perform as usual during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re thrilled to be able to digitally showcase and celebrate virtual performances by our member groups from across the UK.

Fortnightly from May until September, we’ll be featuring a selection of leisure-time music drawn from our membership, from choral societies to gospel choirs, community choirs to symphony orchestras, brass artists to ukulele groups, handbell ringers and more. So pour yourself a drink, kick off your shoes, and settle down to watch a selection of amazing leisure-time music!

This week’s concert features:
00:11 – Welcome from Dorothy Wilson (Chair, Making Music)
01:33 – Oxted Band (‘Happy’ – Pharrell Williams arr. Brown)
04:54 – Capital Chorus (‘Drunken Sailor’ – Traditional English Sea Shanty)
09:15 – The Cobweb Orchestra (‘The Barber of Seville Overture (Finale)’ – G. Rossini)
