FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS: Light at the End… (Castlemaine State Festival 2017)

Light At The End… is performed by five locals who have had to leave their homeland and have made Australis their new home.
From South Sudan, Hungary, Ukrain and Burma, the performers share stories of ‘moments of light’ and ‘strength’ all prerecorded and heard through headphones by the audience.
It was performed six times in a tunnel in Chewton, on the edge of Castlemaine for the Castlemaine State Festival, March 2017.

This video is an edited highlights of the show shot and edited by Leonie van Eyk.

Supported by Castlemaine Rural Australians for Refugees
and funded by the festival and Creatvie Victoria.

The first version of Light At The End… was commisioned by 24 Hour Experience Ballarat in 2015 and was performed by local Ballarat refugees/people seeking asylum.
