The answer to the last caller's question is that he's old. Of course it's harder for older rock fans to hear the fresh stuff because they're out of the loop. There's no shortage of good rock these days; Twin Peaks, Ty Segall (also Fuzz, GØGGS), Post Animal, King Gizzard, ORB, Tame Impala, The Growlers, Wavves, just to name a few are some great rock bands today. They have very little exposure so the older folks don't get to hear, but they're definitely around touring constantly and putting out records.
isn't the bio-pics just another version of VH1's Behind the Music? seems like the same thing turning a story into a movie or doc. Bio-pic or doc, whats the different, same to me. Love your shows Ed. Metal Rocks!

More than likely Gene would be the impetus behind any sort of KISS biopic, which would end up being a watered down, Peter and Ace slamfest. There's no way a non-biased third party film about KISS could ever get made while Gene and Paul are still walking the earth. The only hope would be for someone to make a film loosely based on the band using different names. But even then, good luck putting a fictitious band in make-up and costumes in any way resembling KISS. Anyone trying to do that would have Gene and Paul's lawyer's on them faster than you can say, "Let's put the x in sex."
Those two greedy bastards pitched the Kiss You Wanted The Best movie which was made and finished and then they backed out as they didn’t wanna pay for it. Distributors weren’t interested neither was a company like Eagle Rock to release it on blu ray and DVD.

@4:19 Alice Cooper? New York Dolls? David Bowie? There were plenty of other acts taking theatrics to "that level" during that time besides Kiss.

Dude I want to see a movie about Ozzy. His time in sabbath and discovering Randy Rhoads, the plane crash and carrying on with other players. There’s a lot of material there and the Osbourne name is already known by almost everyone. It would be a cash cow.
I refuse to watch any kiss film until joel and the bots get ahold of KISS MEETS THE PHANTOM OF THE PARK.

Any movie about Kiss would most likely just be Gene and Paul's side of the story, as they own the name. It would probably depict Ace and Peter as worthless drunks, Gene as a dick with some redeeming qualities and Paul Stanley as the guy who can do no wrong. That's basically Paul's view of everything and because Paul pretty mich calls the shots, that's probably how it would be. So… no thanks.
That is why these biopics are just promotional tools. The real fans know the story and watch documentaries, with the band themselves telling what happened. Why bother watching a biopic that will not be true to the facts? It feels like a cheap parody.
