In The Woods – back for good in 2017

The best festival listings calendar, previews, reviews, and photos

In The Woods Festival today confirms its return and will take place on September 1 & 2 2017, at a secret Woodland location in Kent. Following their 10th Anniversary celebrations in 2016 this unique, enchanting festival is back for good!

Remaining true to their reputation as renowned creative visionaries, trusted In The Woods curators Charlie Andrew (Brit Award winning producer), Tom Ranger, Mark Rainbow, Will Brown, Tim Adam-Smith, Hinako Omori and Joel McBride, return in 2017. ITW Festival will deliver its most impressive line-up to date, showcasing a melting pot of inspirational new talent across Music, Art and Spoken Word.

Speaking on the Festival, Tim Adam-Smith says: “What makes ITW different form other festivals is our focus on building a truly balanced line-up that reflects every corner of the industry.

There are 7 of us, all with wildly different tastes; gunning for the artists we think are producing something special – it’s an incredibly democratic process where we only book an act if everyone is happy doing so.

Thanks to our size, we are able to check all the bands we’re interested in out live before we book them ensuring that we deliver a knock out live show.

Plus you can’t beat hanging out in the woods for a weekend!”

Following tradition, the festival line up will not be released until a week before it kicks off, with a set of unique performances from 18 selected artists performing across two main stages. The secrecy of the line-up ensures that the weekend maintains its mystical edge and audiences can be safe in the knowledge, that they are about to embark on a perfectly mapped out journey of discovery.

A capacity of just 1,000 guarantees that festival-goers will be treated to spectacular intimate performances from breaking artists on the cusp of critical acclaim. Previous line-ups boast Mercury Music Prize winners Alt-J and Young Fathers, as well as a selection of renowned nominees including Laura Marling, Slaves and Kate Tempest.

While music curation sits firmly at the heart of this festival, there is so much more of a treat in store to tantalise all the senses within this magical woodland.

Explore the meandering pathways, through a maze of beautifully lit tunneling trees to encounter hidden festival gems. Small clearings reveal intimate lounge areas for revelers to take a moment and play a selection of vinyl, pop up cinemas will offer moonlit movies, yoga retreats will clear the mind and there will be time to reflect while digesting the spoken word delivered via a silent disco.

Throughout the festival, towering art installations will complement the natural habitat of the woods and a fantastic selection of locally sourced cuisine and local brews will keep festivalgoers sustained from start to finish.

2017 will also see the launch of several new projects under the In the Woods brand, to include: –
