We are pleased to announce the following acts to complete the main stage headlining slots for this year:-

Scouting For Girls, Turin Brakes, Reef, and The Selecter

plus Skinny Lister as the Sunday “Udder Stage” headliner.

First off please welcome one of Somerset’s best known musical exports, alternative rock band Reef who will need little introduction to the West Somerset Festival audience, they will be rounding off the main stage line up on Friday 24th! Whilst the iconic anthem ‘Place Your Hands’ is unquestionably their best-loved track, in a career stretching 23 years they have scored nine Top 40 hit singles across 5 hit studio albums, including such classics as ‘Naked’, ‘Come Back Brighter’ and ‘Yer Old’.

After many requests from local residents (and yes we do listen) we are so thrilled to have secured Scouting For Girls for our headliner slot on Saturday 25th. Having sold over 2,000,000 records, and have been nominated for four Brit Awards and an Ivor Novello. Their self-titled debut album hit #1 on the UK charts, spawned the iconic singles ‘She So Lovely’ and ‘Elvis Aint Dead’, has gone on to sell in excess of 1 million copies. Their #1 smash hit single “This Ain’t a Love Song” preceded the release of their second album ‘Everybody Wants to Be on TV’, which peaked at #2. Since then they have released two more hit albums, and continue to tour extensively around the UK and overseas.

Also appearing on the main stage on Saturday after a few of us Watchet folk saw their amazing performance at Bearded Theory in Derbyshire a few years ago we are made up to be able to bring Folk and Indie rock band Turin Brakes (Official) to our home town. After 17 years together, seven studio albums and over a million records sold worldwide, including their number 5 chart topper “Painkiller” This British four piece band might be excused a bit of downtime, but no, the London 4-piece have just released their eighth studio album ‘Invisible Storm’. 2016 saw them enjoy a huge resurgence, with three singles from their critically acclaimed album ‘Lost Property’ receiving national radio play listing.

Sunday main stage will see the mighty two tone explosion The Selecter – Following the band’s new album “DAYLIGHT” released last October, their UK and European sell out “Co Headliner” tour with The Beat during the past year and Pauline collaboration with the Gorillaz we are really really pleased to welcome them back to headline again. With their huge back catalogue of hits including ‘Too Much Pressure’, ‘On My Radio’ and ‘Missing Words’ The Selecter will close our festival party with everyone skanking!

The Udder stage will see Skinny Lister headling on their first visit to Watchet !
As folk rock’s rowdiest rabble since 2009, Skinny’s world has always been an adventure-filled place to be. They’ve held gigs in Land Rovers, they’ve sung while wing-walking, they’ve toured in a narrow boat, they’ve stomped and jigged on restaurant tables, in hotel elevators and in record label car parks. And, as their two previous albums sent them reeling into the hearts of America, the UK, Germany and Japan – on headline tours and stints with Frank Turner, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy’s and the Vans Warped Tour – wherever they play their lusty shanties, punk folk roar-alongs and crazed whirls of love, fighting and booze, you’ll still find them out dancing with the crowd, passing around their flagon of rum or crowd-surfing to the bar, double-bass in hand, to neck shots mid-song. Make no bones – Skinny Lister are the wildest party band you’ll ever get drunk with.
