Behind the Scenes
Chris Lock – Festival Site Build
Can we build it ? Yes We Can!
Chris has been volunteering with Watchet Music Festival for the last 7 years at Parsonage Farm. A carpenter by trade, Chris assists with any work that requires these skills plus assisting with the installation of the festival site tower lights, and setting up the main festival bar. Being part of the festival team Chris volunteers on site during the week leading up to the festival and over the weekend of the festival.
Q. What do you feel is important to you about Watchet Music festival ?
A. I enjoy being part of the festival team and meeting different people, the traders, festival goers and the carnival clubs who are involved with the build and who volunteer on the festival site. The festival has a great vibe and has a good family friendly environment.
Chris has a very diverse and eclectic taste in music , from Indie to Folk to Punk. Chris said “ Music is essential, and it is very important to find new artists to follow, some of the smaller artists play some of best live music I have seen. I enjoy the smaller venues which are up close and personal, you can get a real feel for the music being played.
Q. How do you feels the festival impacts on the community?
A. Watchet Music Festival brings people into the area. Its a very special thing for Mark and Jackie and the volunteers to create such a large event in a small costal town in the south west.
Quote : A festival that HAS to keep going.
