Behind the scenes at Watchet Festival
Dan Mossman Electrician
Dan is has lived and worked in and around Watchet for many years. For the last 7 years Dan has volunteered for a week before the start of the festival to set up the electrics on the festival site. Dan initially approached Bob Hornby one of the festival teams main event local electricians and asked if he could help out.
Dan is part of a team and works alongside James Taplin, Paul Raymond and with his father Mark Mossman who signs off the electrical works.
The role of the electricians is to set up/lay out cables and ensure power is available for the festival site. Works starts the week before the festival and the following areas are wired up :
Site and security offices
The Udder Stage
Entrance / Wristband exchange
Q What do you get from the festival ?
A I am involved in team work and helping out at a great event I like working together for the community. As a volunteer I work for about 84 hours covering the week before the festival with set up, and I am on standby during the festival. I take great pride in my work knowing that it all goes towards such a great event.
Q Who are you looking forward to seeing this year ?
A Embrace are top of the list for me. I am also looking forward to a visit with my family to the festival and spending time with my wife and children.
