Due to unexpected circumstances, The Jesus and Mary Chain will no longer be able to perform at this year’s Victorious.

We’re thrilled to announce that Pete Doherty will now be joining the Victorious Festival line up on the Sunday!

Pete Doherty stormed into the public eye in 2002 with The Libertines as they released debut record ‘Up The Bracket’. Now embarking on a solo career, his most recent album ‘Hamburg Demonstrations’ released last year received glowing reviews,

“some of the prettiest, best-realised songs of Doherty’s career” – The NME
“genuine ragged charm” – The Observer
“astute and refreshingly low-key” – The Guardian

We can’t wait to see him perform live on the Sunday!

  1. Mark Weaver says:

Oh bollox,I was looking forwards to Jesus and Mary chain.

  2. Is this with the Libs or not?

  3. Oh man I’m so gutted I can’t go

  4. Erika Gasson it’s our chance to get him in the spare room!! Xx

  5. You could’ve done something to compliment JAMC, like having my bloody valentine playing

  6. Sam Speakman says:

Rhys Marshall you coming on the Sunday mate?

  7. Zoe Cummings says:

Oh joys… I agree Sunday line up a bit poor this year… 🙁

  8. Is that the best they could do don’t know any of his solo stuff !!! They could have got someone a bit more accomplished
    Just my opinion

  9. Darren Barton! I’m missing this as it clashes with Liam G 😬

  10. Phil Morris says:

Shame I was looking forward to JAMC! I suppose it short notice to get a replacement!! Hope the T Shirts hadn’t been printed already though 😀😜

  11. Must have known when I opted for Sunday tickets Sam 😜 xx

  12. The Jesus and Mary Chain were by far the best act on the bill and perhaps even the only great act on the bill. Now replaced by an act which is really average at best.

  13. Sean O'neill says:

Oh man Dodged a bullet there!! Nearly brought briefs just for the Mary Chain, what a whopper of a replacement!!!

  14. Ollie Cole says:

Rather slam my little bollocks in a door than watch that smack head twat! Tom Turner Jack Hallett

  15. Just turned my phone on.. I’ve never been tagged by so many people in one post.. Guess you all know how much I love Peter.. I’ve just pissed my pants.. Party back at mine after…. Peter might play at the Cleveland oasis.. 😁. Thanks guys..

  16. Are you offering refunds as I was only going to see Jatmc? Doherty is awful.

  17. Martyn Cox says:

Gutted. I was really looking forward to JAMC. Doherty is a poor alternative.

  18. Marc Yerrell says:

Those saying Doherty isn’t a good replacement for an obscure 80s band that had two top ten singles 😂😂😂

  19. Pete always puts on a good show and has guests often. Don’t judge until seen.

  20. Paul Mamo says:

You’ll be surprised at how good Pete is. His solo work is pretty good and I expect he will play some Babyshambles and Libs stuff as he did write some of the songs.

  21. I last saw JAMC in the Guildhall in the 80’s at their height was really looking forward to seeing them again ..not sure Doherty will fill the void

  22. Katy Church says:

Sharon Church were you going to this for the Jesus and Mary chain??

  23. I met Pete’s mum years back and she had done everything to look after her boy and lead him back on the right road and he threw it all back in her face time and time again .. hes a complete little knob jockey and his music… Ive heard music ten times better from local bands and artists

  24. Heres the stock answer from them ref cancelling JAMC

Unfortunately The Jesus and Mary Chain cancelling it totally out of our hands
