The best of urban at V 2017

Already boasting a jam-packed line up of the world’s hottest rap, grime and R&B talent, Virgin V Festival 2017 today expands on the line up with the V Street Stage Powered by Utilita Energy.

Huge performances are set across Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire on 19th and 20th August 2017 from global superstar Jay Z bringing decades of hits and the iconic platinum-selling Magna Carter, grime luminary Stormzy returns following a sold-out UK tour and the release of critically acclaimed debut album ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’, as well as Godfather of garage Craig David playing a host of his smash hits. Rudimental are sure to bring the party to the lineup with their dynamic drum and bass anthems including ‘Feel the Love’, ‘Not Giving In’ and ‘Waiting All Night’, while London lad Dizzee Rascal will entertain crowds with his urban sound and chart topping summer anthems, along with the unmissable South London duo Krept & Konan who have cemented themselves within the genre. Dancehall superstar Sean Paul will take to the stage with a plethora of world-wide hits and drum and bass duo Sigma also star with their uplifting dance hits such as ‘Nobody To Love’, ‘Changing’ and ‘Find Me’. Chart-topping production trio Disciples will bring their deep house hits including world conquering Calvin Harris collaboration “How Deep Is Your Love” and Queen of UK house Hannah Wants won’t disappoint with her unique mixes and energetic sets, making Virgin V Festival the hottest ticket this summer.

Heading up the newly announced all British V Street Stage Powered by Utilita Energy

at Chelmsford on Sunday 20th August and Staffordshire 19th August is South London rapper Yungen. Known for his catchy punchlines and real lyrical ability, the Virgin V Festival crowd will be wowed by one of London’s most exciting and talented underground stars.

British girl-band M.O will be bringing their 90s-inspired smooth hip-hop and R&B tunes to the V Festival crowd. With hit singles “Not In Love” and “Who Do You Think Of” and a debut album on the way, these ladies are not to be missed.

As one of the most recognizable faces in the current wave of female MCs who spit bars just as well as their male counterparts, Nadia Rose is treading brave new ground. Equipped with sharp lyrics and infectious tracks including 2016 single ‘Skwod’ this Croydon girl, who just happens to be Stormzy’s cousin, is sure to be a standout of the weekend.

BBC Sound of 2016 nominee Mabel will be blowing up the stage with her debut track, “Know Me Better” and soulful R&B sound. Having appeared in the already iconic video for Skepta’s “Shutdown”, the daughter of Neneh Cherry and Massive Attack producer Cameron McVey is breaking out on her own with new EP “Bedroom” out May 26th. Teenage marvels, AJ X DENO will be bringing their catchy afrobeats sound to an anticipating crowd.

Also joining the V Street Stage Powered by Utilita Energy line up is Northampton Grime MC Izzie Gibbs, Warning Crew’s Lisa Mercedez and Yung Fume.

Tickets are now on sale with fans advised to visit for official outlets.
