đź’«Society Spotlight: High Legh, Cheshiređź’«
The biggest telescope of its time, the Leviathan at Birr Castle, Ireland, has now been fully restored and is part of the beautiful gardens and science centre at the Castle. With 72 inch mirror made from highly polished metal, it was where the Crab Nebula & Whirlpool Galaxy earned their poetic names. A place to visit for any astronomer.
Vicky Duncalf chats with astronomer & public speaker Pete Williamson about the Leviathan’s grand history. Filmed at a very busy High Legh Astro, Cheshire.
