ANNOUNCEMENT!! We are delighted to announce our final speaker for Solarsphere 2018! It's none other than the fabulous 'GREG SMYE-RUMSBY' who will be delivering a talk about the Perseid Meteor Showers covering the history of meteor showers, the originator of this particular shower and the best way to observe it.

Greg works at the Royal Observatory Greenwich presenting planetarium shows, school workshops, adult evening classes and sometimes presenting media spots on radio and television. He also works for Astronomy Now magazine creating both artwork and articles. Greg has given many lectures, this one being particularly special for Solarsphere as hopefully, we'll be able to see the very thing that Greg will be talking about! Let's keep our fingers crossed for clear skies! 🙂

Sounds a great talk 😀

My last group email to all Astronomical Societies listed on Astronomyclubs.co.uk resulted in a huge amount bouncing back.

'Shane' runs this page as a hobby, and at no cost to any society but does rely on societies contacting him to update their information!

If you are a member of a society, please can you help by checking that the contact details listed for your society are up to date. If they are incorrect, please email Shane on info@astronomyclubs.co.uk with your updated details.

It's a really useful tool to use and great info for the general public who may be looking for societies in their locality, so let's not allow this to go to waste 🙂 Cheers..
