Latest update from Shambala Festival
[ad_1]
Still without a ticket for Shambala? Our trusty team of Oxfam Stewards still have some spots available!
“The work doesn’t detract from my festival, because it’s fun, worthwhile and short-lived. With only 24 hours on shift during 5 days on site, there’s still loads of time to party!”
We caught up with some regular Shambala stewards to pick their lovely brains about why they choose to volunteer, year in year out: http://www.shambalafestival.org/theres-still-time-volunteer-shambala/

If you are a “green”, environmentally aware festival, please can you tell me why you will be killing grey squirrels and teaching people ways to cook them? If it is as your literature says because you consider them an “invasive” species, then your thinking is extremely out-of-touch and speciesist.. I would draw your attention to the research done by Animal Aid and other groups which demonstrates that culling of grey squirrels is not necessary to protect the red squirrels (whose main threat is humans). Please reconsider your plans to kill and eat what you term “invasive” species (grey squirrels and crayfish) and instead make yourselves a really ethical, environmentally aware event by keeping the festival vegetarian – and maybe vegan in 2018?
