Shambala Festival news: Shambala 2018: Womb With A View

Latest update from Shambala Festival

They’re back (but this time, they’re award-winning!).
Winner’s of the ‘Unique Festival Arena’ award at the Independent Festival Awards 2017, Womb With A View will return to the fields of Shambala this Summer. Travel down a fallopian tube, party with some adoring sperm, relax into the luxurious velvety interior, start a universe, divide your cells, divide your cells again, divide your cells some more times, sing pop hits into an umbilical cord, pray to mother above, grow your kidneys, wiggle your new toes, be the creator, be the created and make yourselves at home.

When the contractions begin, it’s time to leave, but fear not, a kindly midwife will be on hand to help you through the birth canal, and back into the world, blinking, cleansed and reborn.

Shambala Festival

Proudly presenting our sixteenth act of Shambala Festival 2019. It's Amy True.
Smooth, lights-low soul and R&B clashing with placard waving hip hop. Amy is a lion-hearted London emcee who has supported the likes of Public Enemy, Slum Village and Mos Def. Her conscious hip hop and soul creations make for an incredible live experience and we are so excited to have her back at Shambala.

Delve deeper on our website, here:

Tune in again at 5pm on Monday as we announce our 17th act!

Shambala Festival

It's World Poetry day today - and what better time to take a walk down memory lane to Shambala 2014, to enjoy the beautiful poem that Dreadlock Alien wrote and performed for us..

Some Have A Memory Beyond A Live Act
Some already have next years rucksack packed.
Feel free to unlock the chains on your brains.
Smiling in the sunshine, and laughing through the rain.

Just a simple part of what make a year seem whole.
Feel free to investigate that rebel in your soul.
Recycled there to win the cup,
Raise your eyes and keep reaching up.

Less stress, less mess, glittered faces from Mongolian yurts
Jelly bellied butterflies, we laughed until it hurts.
The gasp… take a breath and grasp back to reality..
Immerse yourself in a teepee of totality.

Insanity served on the side, ride the carousel of build and break.
Chai and a slice of lemon drizzle cake around the lake.
Intense in tents, marquees and domes,
Tarpaulins , Hammocks And motor homes.

Main stage gathered all ages around,
Swimming under seas a symphony of bassline sound.
Some have listened but some have not yet heard
Drifting on a breeze of the wandering word.

Feel free for more than a few days. Feel free to find new ways
Feel flutters, feel giggles, feel loved , feel free
Feelings are what bond the Shambala Family.

Spoken word: Dreadlock Alien
Music: Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators
Video: Ed Lawes @ 144 Films
