Latest update from Shambala Festival

HEADS UP, MUSIC MAKERS! Applications for bands and musicians are now OPEN for Shambala 2018.
If you think your band has what it takes to get pulses racing, feet dancing and hands firmly in the air – we want to hear from you! Applications will close on January 15th 2018 and can be found here: https://www.shambalafestival.org/application/bands/

If you’re not a musician yourself but have recently unearthed a musical gem that may not be on our radar, and that would go down a storm at Shambala, tag ’em in the comments to give them a nudge.

(PS – Please note that we do not currently take applications from DJs – simply because we don’t have the capacity to listen to the amount of mixes we are sent – we wish we did!)

Shambala Festival

Dear Shambalans,

We are so sad to announce that we have no choice other than to cancel Shambala Festival 2020. We have been holding on to any faint glimmers of hope for as long as possible, but the time has come to call it a day.

This is heartbreaking. Shambala is an annual reunion of a huge community of like-minded souls and we are devastated that we will not be able to come together this August. It is especially sad as we had pulled out all the stops to celebrate our 20th birthday with you!

What does this mean for Shambala? Well, as you know, we’re a proudly independent event with no funding, corporate backing or sponsorship. There are no adverts in our utopia, only adventures! This puts us in a rather tight spot. But we have every hope that, with a little help from our friends, we will weather this storm.

After some considerable number crunching we realised that if every Ticket Holder were to donate £30, our black hole would be filled. We realise that many of you will be in no position to make such a gift and we’re also aware that there are so many people, organisations and causes that need support through this difficult time. We fully understand and respect this.

If you can and wish to, please help us secure many more decades of our beautiful, independent Shambala! Ticket holders can purchase a £30 Shambala Superstars donation package during the ticket roll-over/refund process which will grant you access to all manner of on-site perks and silliness at Shambala 2021. We will also shortly be launching a fundraiser filled with awesome rewards - stay tuned.

Today we are sending all our 2020 Ticket Buyers an email to fully outline the process for rolling tickets forward to 2021, receiving refunds and making donations, as well as more info on the £30 Superstar donation packages.

Please keep an eye on your inboxes and spam etc, as you actively need to make a choice to roll tickets over or they will be automatically refunded.

Shambala 2021 will take place from Thursday 26th - Sunday 29th August.

We will not sit idly by and just wait for next year to come around. We will be doing everything we can to navigate our way through this and to help our incredible community. We have got some seriously exciting plans up our sleeves that will be announced soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

Shambala will get through this - it is too precious not to. Our weird, fluffy little utopia is beautiful and unique and you are an integral part of it.

Tonight we will raise a glass to you all and reflect on everything that we are so grateful for. We will also be thinking of everybody who has been, and continues to be impacted by this awful crisis.

Remember that every passing day brings us closer to when we can sing, dance, laugh and hold each other again, in the fields of Shambala.

So much love,

Dan, Becka, Sarah, Sid, Janine, Jon, Chris, Oli, Karen, Christine, Kate & the whole Shambala family x

🌈 Thank you for giving it every chance to go ahead 🌴 We appreciate everything you’ve been doing in terms of trying to see if it can happen 🍇 and also keeping us lot happy with such brilliant tunes/beats/poems etc during lockdown 🦄 You are a wonderful, wonderful bunch of humans 💓 and we will definitely be rolling over to next year and will happily donate to keep you afloat. 🌸

I was praying that shambala would be on, I finally had a chance to come after a two year hiatus! Alas fate has struck another course. I was going to be performing so I can’t purchase a super star thing but if you do a crowd funder I‘ll donate! Good luck lovelies and see you in utopia ❤ Esme xxx

💕Lots of love to you all. I know it was a really hard decision to make. I’ve been working for you every year since 2008 and my daughter has had every birthday at Shambala since she was 3. You are a big part of our lives and a way of meeting up with family across the country. You have made the right decision. Look forward to working with you next year. Lots of love xxx💕

Big love from here in Kelmarsh. I will miss it terribly but totally respect what must have been a terribly hard decision. We’ll party around our gardens for you all xxx

Hey Shambala, we are sad but understanding too. Thank you for keeping that glimmer alive this long. We love you. I'm a little bit teary. Lots of love from Team Badger and all the fire-pit crew XXX ❤️❤️❤️

Love you Shambala! I will definately be rolling my ticket over and donating. This is definitely the right move... it's sad, but it will just mean that next year will be absolutely incredible ♥️

It was to be my first .... but It most definitely wouldn’t be my last.. heard too many fab things about shambala for it not to be!! See you in the fields next year... stay safe x

So sad. Final nail in the coffin. But stoked to say my last festival was Shambala last year. Was one of the best weekends of my life, thanks for that <3

We knew it was coming but it’s still heartbreaking. Thank you for all the posts over the last few weeks. We felt the love and hope you felt it back. Shambala is an incredible community that Im so thankful to be part of and that my children have grown up with. It is going to be some party in 2021 ❤️

Aw well, never mind, totally understand the decision though! I will absolutely be rolling my ticket over and happy to chip in with my donation too. 😊 I couldn't imagine a social distancing Shambala anyway, it's all about the random hugs!

Sooooo understandable was just waiting for the announcement. Still hard to read as I'm sure we were all holding out that tiny bit of hope 💔 Can't want for next year and will defo donate and roll my ticket over. Will have a mini shambala in the garden 🥰🌈🥳💥

To say I’m absolutely gutted is an understatement, but completely understand the decision and why it’s been made. There was absolutely no hesitation when deciding we are rolling our tickets over for next year. Can’t wait for August 2021 already, and I have no doubt it will be worth the wait!! Xxx

Next year will be your 21st birthday party....arguably more special than 20 years!! Looking forward to next year already. We will be rolling tickets over definitely x

This is so sad, but definitely the right decision. I'm happy to wait until next summer to use my ticket ❤️ THE COSTUMES WILL BE INCREDIBLE

Such sad news but completely the right decision. Bet it’s been so manic for all of you the last few weeks so thank you for all your incredible hard work making such a magical place for us all to meet up at once a year & just think of 2021 it’s gonna be unreal! ♥️🎉🌞🍄

Well done wonderful Shambala Festival you held on as long as you could ❤️ I will definitely be purchasing the £30 superstar donation pack & I encourage everyone who has the means to do the same. I love this festival, it’s values, it’s heart and what it stands for. Let’s all pull together to support it ❤️🌍

Sending all the love to all of you. We will be together again soon. Xxx

Big love to all of you. It's the only thing to do in the circumstances. Looking forward to 2021 already..! Xxx

Thank you for all that you do and continue to do Shambala! You've provided some phenomenal lockdown entertainment and your wider community is something to be proud of. We're all with you in this and I'm sure that many who can help, will! See you next year for the biggest knees up in history xxxx

We're very sad to hear the news, we've not only been many times, but have introduced many to what is the best festival in the world; however, it is for the best, and we understand. We are looking forward to seeing you next year, and are happy to support you with a little extra. Keep up the great work, see you soon. xxx

We expected this and it’s the right thing to do. Doing the right thing is not always easy but we all understand and will so BE THERE next year with bells on. And will obviously be donating to help you out because without Shambala our year is not complete. Can’t wait to see and hug the life out of our Shamfam in August 2021. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We will help in any way that we can! **Shambala Foreverrrrrrr!** I don't even have a ticket for this year but I would be more than happy to donate £30 to help with funds... Just let us know what to do where and when. We love you Shambala! Chins up. Faces to the sun, the shadows will fall behind **XxXxX**

Can I donate £30 even if I hadn’t bought a ticket? (I was supposed to be away!) Anything to keep what can only be described as pure utopia alive - shambala is truly heaven on Earth! Love to all and can’t wait for 2021 🌻💕🤝

We couldn’t get tickets for this year but will gladly donate to the fundraiser! 🌈❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🌈

I welled up reading this. Inevitable tho. Next year will be extra special tho.
