Shambala Festival news: Flags For CALM

Latest update from Shambala Festival

A HUGE thanks to all the kind souls who have already donated to our Flags for CALM crowdfunder, raising money for The CALMzone – an award winning charity helping to fight against male suicide – the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK.

The prize draw for winning the last two tickets to Shambala Festival 2018 has now been drawn and the winner notified, BUT.. you’ve raised well over £5,000 already and we don’t want to stop, so we’ve added new rewards! If you now sponsor 3 or more ‘calls to CALM’, you’ll be entered into a second prize draw to win the FIRST TWO TICKETS TO SHAMBALA 2019! Our winner will be notified on September 2nd. Just select one of the new rewards when donating – see crowdfunder for more info.

A huge thanks once again, your generosity will save lives ❤️

Shambala Festival

Last night, one of Shambala 2018’s secret venues, The Data Mine, took the gong for Unique Festival Arena at the Independent Festival Awards. 🙌

The Data Mine actually started life as an April Fool's joke, and then became our first foray into using blockchain technology to encourage real world physical interactions through tech..

This secret venue opened (to those in the know) as darkness fell, inside a blown-out mine shaft, complete with caged, digital canaries and interactive art installation. Intrepid revellers who tunnelled further would discover a serious late night party space, blasting out underground future sounds. The Data Mine went OFF - huge thanks to the build and decor crew, the designers, DJs and the whole team. 🔥

Dig deeper into The Data Mine's beginnings and discover how we used anonymous blockchain technology to reveal this secret venue to our festival app users, here:

Production in that stage was off the chain you guys deserve the award

Toughest Tunes on site hands down ¥

Lee let's find this next year 🤓

Well Done David 🙂 Great that all your hard work has been recognised 🙂 Hxxx

This venue was great. I love the idea of discovering Shambala secrets through the app but reception is so bad on site as with most festivals. Be great if it was possible to improve that somehow.

This was such a great venue and such great work and thought put into its design - my kids also loved playing with all the switches - a well deserved win

Wish I’d made it there ! Was in bed early watching little ones satday and sunday and only arrived Friday night so never managed to get there... I think it’s the best idea ever!

Alex Lay we never found this 🙁

Yeah and I forgot to go in!!! 🙈🙈🙈

We loved it , and spent quite a lot of time in there <3

Was definitely one of my faves 💛
