Shambala Festival

A career in festival production: Bizarre, occasionally stressful, unbelievably fun and incredibly rewarding.

If you're 18-25 and interested in getting into the industry, listen up! You Produce is a brand new festival producing programme based in Bristol. This is an evening course delivered in collaboration with Portland Productions and Creative Youth Network (hence the age restriction) and will see you spending time with festival producers, quizzing them on their journeys and gaining experience in areas such as production management, marketing, set design and ticket selling. There are also opportunities to produce festival content at some amazing UK festivals, including Shambala!

Only for 18-25 year olds, the demographic currently rich with their parents money. Don't go to college, work for us for free under the notion of learning something.

Oh my god Shambala marketing team you are angels for being so patient with all these ridiculous comments 😂 I’d be swearing by now “IT’S A *$^<\>% CREATIVE YOUTH INITIATIVE!!!”

Hi Shambala is there a way of applying to you for work as an adult? Or a contact that I could have to see if there is any opportunity’s with the festival for older more experienced people?

Why is there an age limit on it ??? Kimberley Louise Hurrell we would rock this even if we are too old!

10 week course???? ive got qualifications that allow me to dispense medication, plan and write safety assessments for an entire organisation that took me less than that.

Why the limit ? That's sad to see a limit ?

Why do WE HAVE TO BE UNDER 25, WHATS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THAT NUMBER...WHY NOT HAVE FESTIES THAT ONLY 20 SOMETHINGS CAN GO TO THEN PAH

Luke Bliss-Thompson

Jack Wade - this is what I was telling you about Friday ☺️

Alison Chambers I’m sure you know some bright young things who would love this xx

Adii Lørraine give up on life and just do this with me 😂

Justin Strong i think we should do this bro

Jim Drummond let's apply ! Be great experience ! X

Tanisha-leigh Dunn what a great opportunity! Real interesting! X

Liz Miss-Daisy. Know anybody that this may interest?

Freya Grayson this would be so cool!!

For those sad about the age limit on this opportunity, I just want to recommend the Charity Apprentice course with Child.org as an alternative. It includes a whole module on event management and loads of opportunities in management and operation positions at UK festivals with Charity Concierge. We have many people on the course who are looking for experience in event management: charityapprentice.org

Rose let's do it

Rosie McLay seems up your street!

Shame there's so much negativity about this , I am really excited about this opportunity for any young people who can get on this, especially if it's my son Kain Finn Zahiri!!

I'm astounded at the amount of people who don't love this initiative! And who clearly haven't read about the amazing work these organisations do. I work in this area and seeing the outlook of young people change through opportunities like this is incredible. There needs to be more of this!Keep up the good work Shambala 💕

This sounds brilliant take no notice of the moaners. I worked on the Festival circuit in the 80s and 90s and had the time of my life. Now as a comfortably middle aged vicar I am toying with the idea of venturing forth once more into fields of green...

How sad to see so many negative comments about this wonderful opportunity for young people. They are far and few between and I personally (as an old person) find this divisiveness quite appalling. Well done for publicising this at a time when young people have a lot fewer options than I and many other commenters on here did

Hmm shame about the age limit..I review events and would love to be able to do a course like this. Eventually I want to be hosting not reviewing. Using what I have learned along the way

Dan Westwood not sure if you'd be interested in this but as music is your thing then it may be worth a look x

  1. Any one can remember the name of the craziest, whacky Japan themed Guy, band, musicb extravaganza in one of the side tents some years ago?? Police man he say,, no ooo one of the lyrics. May have been the last time they had straight instead of round layout… or next or next after season from that??!

  2. Any plans for a programme App…? It would be so handy to be able to tag acts like you can FB events, as I can never remember the who-when-where that I’ve seen into the programme!! 🙃😀

  3. Can there be a pocket sized programme this year? Last year’s was so big I couldn’t carry it round at all and just didn’t know what was going on all weekend 🙁
