They are the new project of Reef guitarist Kenwyn House, a psychedelic, sonic rock n’ roll magical carpet ride of an experience and are already causing a bit of storm in the music press. They are Goldray.

All the way from Perth, Australia on the back of a 6 album career to date, their music is a diverse, out on the edge take on rock…. Please welcome to Ramblin’ Man 2018, Aussie progressive metallers Voyager Australia

  1. Wow now really starting to think they’ve got no big names to announce 😱

  2. Alan Nesbitt says:

Is it just me or are there more side projects than established bands this year? I’m not normally too fussed about headliners at festivals but under card looking a bit mixed to be kind

  3. I’d rather just one big announcement next time please this is too much disappointment for too long a stretch of time

  4. Ray Paul says:

For the majority this is a ….. Who? Need some major names if you want to sell tickets .

  5. Ian Gallears says:

Was already disappointed by this announcement when it leaked out yesterday.

  6. Ade Furlong says:

Stop dripping. It’ll be ace as usual. I for one love a new band at a festival. Headliners might be nice mind.

  7. Beate Seuser says:

Festival is getting really interesting for me! Voyager are an ace live band.

  8. Prog Stage…. get Big Big Train, Steven Wilson, Kayak, Alan Parsons etc etc…..

  9. Brian Callar says:

Yawn!!! Wake me up when you finally have a proper announcement not all this friggin drip feeding. Getting bored now.

  10. This is dreadful. You almost want them to just come clean and just say ‘our headliners have pulled out, we’re doing the best we can here.’ It happens. Download lost all 3 headliners in 2008 and still somehow came up roses.

  11. Julie Hewitt says:

Can’t help but think that they are struggling to fill the headline slots. Already stated no Friday night this year. All we want is for them to be upfront with us instead of dragging it out with one announcement at a time, with bands that to be honest alot of people won’t have heard of and certainly aren’t going to inspire anyone to rush out and get tickets. Come on RMF either give us the big headliners or at least be honest with us and tell the fans and those of us who already have tickets that things aren’t going to plan.

  12. Peter Else says:

Robert Plant needs to be shifting some space at ramblin – hes in uk at that time – Bob Seger and Mr President Alice Cooper will save Ramblin from becoming a laughing stock

  13. Something is amiss, very underwhelming but am still holding out that the best is yet to come!!

  14. This is the reply Ramblin Man put on my comment from last year about the dates changing. So far apart from Halestorm I’m pretty disappointed with the line up.

  15. Goldray are a great band, really hot . Would love to see them live

  16. Good line up for us Proggrs 🙂 Better than last year 🙂

  17. Louis James says:

Ignore the negative feedback on here…… At the end of the day it takes time tears and heart ache to get to this stage for up and coming bands…. This is the future of rock and roll … They are keeping their integrity all the while. It’s a long way to the top, if you wana rock and roll ….

  18. Paul Glancey says:

Voyager excellent band and excellent choice

  19. Simon Bowley says:

Headline Maniac is the new project from the bass player and drummer from legendary band Eddie&the Hotrods. Their debut album of hook driven rock ‘n’roll received widespread acclaim from music press.

  20. Robert May says:

Prog day looking good for free thinking ramblers! The moaners? Dont go and shut up!

  21. Rachel Moore says:

After 50 years of live music and festivals predominantly this is trying to fool people who have already bought tickets…look at all the others… big names all booked agreed and ready… I have no problem with bands announced (not my thing which is fine , but looking at previous years surprised )but it seems you are trying to hoodwink those that are experienced festival goers.. long before you could camp and apart from reading et al this strange drip feed of small bands is really odd and tbh making you look a little bit ridiculous .. I can’t probably make it (not that that will be a major concern) due to the shift in date and also no release of any massive headliner .. it’s really rather odd x

  22. Tony Prosser says:

    You’re taking the piss now.
    Just tell us who’s headlining.

  23. David Howell says:

I have a hunch that Deep Purple may make an appearance. Otherwise, this is looking a shambles.

  24. I visualise one little old fella on his phone at home calling round trying to get this together. We’ve been every year and it could be so good but they need to get the bands organised a year or more in advance. 😥
