Rabidfest news: VIG Presents: Abolition 2018

Latest update from Rabidfest

So. Have any of you ever met Shrimp, our keeper of the purse? (Wouldn’t recommend it, he’s a tool and a skinflint, tbh.)

Well, when he’s not making the RABIDFEST trains run on time, he’s also running other events throughout the year!

Once a year, Shrimp and the rest of VIG (Who are playing the Friday of Rabidfest this year…. Just saying) run a fundraiser night in Oxford called Abolition, which raises funds for the The Abolição Trust!

“The Abolição Trust uses the Brazilian art-form Capoeira to support young people in some of the poorest parts of the world. Through free classes, events and international exchanges, they can develop confidence, learn new skills in a safe environment and build hope for the future.”

This year they won’t be playing the event; something about one of them being stranded in Brazil. (Yes, seriously…)

Instead they bring you 4 great artists to the Wheatsheaf all to raise a bit of money for the trust. If you fancy a great night of music in Oxford, we strongly suggest you don’t miss this. It’s only once a year, after all!

This year’s artists:

Little Sparta- OX1
The Final Clause of Tacitus

And headlining will be one of our very own RABIDFEST artists, Crimson Tusk!

£5 OTD

See you there, you rabid lot! Back for the 3rd time!

VIG’s annual fundraiser for the Aboliçao Trust returns to the Wheatsheaf, for one night only! This, year VIG will opening for Three brilliant artists!

Red Method unleash dark video for Lockdown, Acoustic track ‘Euphoria of Transformation’.From the ashes of Meta-Stasis and The Defiled, London metallers Red Method have been taking the UK by storm. Smashing the stages of some of the UK’s most revered festivals and events last year, their debut album ‘For The Sick’ was released in February of this year.

Admist the current chaos of COVID-19, the guys have unveiled new release ‘Euphoria of Transformation’ , an Acoustic instrumental featuring on ‘For The Sick’ with today’s video release suggesting a time where grief and music can play a big and beautiful part in acceptance for our lost loved.

Little fun fact, “Euphoria Of Transformation” nearly didn’t make it on the album (explains keyboard player and programmer Alex Avdis) we were losing our minds trying to put For The Sick together, running out of money and time… we decided we would take it upon our selves and that I would mix it at home, which I did. There is something about Euphoria Of Transformation that I really like, it has this raw energy about it, out of tune guitars and a ripping solo by Quinton! I guess you could say It’s our throwback to Sepultura’s Kaiowas from Chaos AD in a way.

“The whole thing is a real DIY job” (Continues Alex Avdis aka The AvD) “We even filmed the video separately in our houses using our phones and Quinton Lucion edited it!”

Jeremy Gomez aka Solomon explains: “Music is a transcendental experience. It can help us recall loved ones, process grief, and hopefully, ultimately transform to a beautiful place within us so that we can bid goodbye to the important people we have lost with a braver heart.”

Euphoria of Transformation was premiered as part of UK Tech-Metal Fest TechFest At Home last weekend.
