Latest update from Outcider Festival
Everyone is finally talking about the issue of waste at festivals, and rightly so!
As festival organisers we take waste and recycling very seriously, and endeavour to have the smallest footprint possible at the beautiful Fernhill Farm. Please help us make this the cleanest Outcider Festival yet
We provide clearly marked points for recyclable and general waste, which are sorted daily by our lovely volunteers, and give all festival goers clear bin sacks upon arrival.
Please keep your waste separated between recyclables (plastic, cardboard, tin, paper) and general waste, and use the appropriate bins.
Cigarette butts are extremely toxic, non-biodegradable and difficult to spot / pick up. They are a huge problem for farmers and livestock so please treat all cigarette waste as litter and use the general waste or special 'Butt Hole' bins!
Please do not dump broken camping items (tents, gazebos, mattresses, etc) as they are very difficult for us to deal with and essentially they belong to you.
If you love Outcider Festival, the best way to show your appreciation is actually to take your waste home and sort it yourselves. This is the most efficient way of recycling, and also allows our hard working volunteers to concentrate on other work during the pack down. Please show them you care
The final word goes to Beans on Toast who, as ever, sums up all of these big issues succinctly and bang on message…
Keep it green… keep it clean…
