2014 was my first. Spacious, fun, sponsorship owned it, a bit of edge. So moving on, 2015 fun, the team were still On-it as the BH Strap illustrates - madness brought the house down.. I revisited in 2017, not the same, rubbish set-up, artist great appalling layout and then 2019 - shocking from start to finish. Cracking Artist aside Grace Jones. Sort out your layout, no of bar staff, having sufficient ice and food. It feels like ‘this one was planned by a novice. I’m not expecting you to be back next year.
Roll on next year!! 🙌
Elizabeth, du sku’ ha taget en tur... 🥴
That view just shows how bad it was putting the only two stages so close to each other, so that everyone was squashed at one end with lots of empty space at the other end (because of the overly noisy fairground rides that were not being used most of the time on the Saturday.)
We had a brilliant time 3 adults 1 15yr old and a 3 year old who danced and played nonstop only thing I found was silly people who set up sofas in the middle of the crowds listening to the music, can’t wait to next year
The festival this year was disappointing.
Whilst you (OnBlackheath that is) may consider it a triumph to have hoodwinked so many people over the 2 days, it would be good to see your response to the many people that had a horrendous time, as well as giving concrete reassurances on the planning of future events.
And that doesn't mean staff going off to buy tins of Strongbow to account for the demand in cider, or selling lager that no-one had heard of before the gig, or will buy since.
You're right... amazing view of few people at the ridiculous non-family (under 12) friendly fairground, people queuing 2 hours of their life away and 2 stages squashed into one corner ...
Im suprised you even raised your head above the water. It was a complete rip off from the space, the food and drink ( lack off and price) childrens facillites and sound quality from the fair being better than the stage. The worse thing is you are actually ignoring all the above problems and made by the exact people who paid your salary. Treat people with contempt and see if they come back for more!
Best one yet! Can't wait for next year's event😁
Here is a section from House of Common all dayer on 26th - OnBlackheath organisers could learn a little from this: Food for personal consumption is allowed. No glass or metal cutlery will be permitted.
Folding camping chairs will be allowed onsite for this event. However, there will be a restricted zone covering a large section of the area in front of the main stage where no chairs or such like can be positioned. This will be marshalled by security. This is to make sure that there is ample space at the front of stage to allow people wishing to stand to fully enjoy the show and ensure there is sufficient space for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this.
Pretty sure you can beat that skyline view.
Hi, below Ajay Mistry and Marian O'Brien, I suggest you write them an email as I have, as they will reply. Feedback on the site is great but also I think it is essential that they have clear individual feedback so that they can review and see that there are consistent issues being raised by a number of people.
You’ve photoshopped all the lazy sofas out. There were way more.
We were so utterly disappointed by these two days. When we previously attended, we loved the relaxed vibe, it was safe, spacious and just a lovely experience. We took our 1 year old and it was just a pleasure, lots to do with kids but we also both enjoyed our favourite bands sitting, standing, laying her in her Pram or on the inflatable sofa.
This year however we came back with our 3 year old and 7 month old. We set up for the day with friends and wandered around. I went to get milk for the baby/ good for the toddler (queues of 1.5 hours) and came back through hoards of people, I struggled to get through, people wouldn’t move, I had to show them the baby bottle to be let through. My husband was with the kids and couldn’t move them out of the crowds. People were pushing and shoving, the baby was screaming. No one helped. They just kept shoving forwards to get in position for jamiroquai. We managed to get out but had to leave our inflatable sofas behind. No one helped us get our stuff out. We then had to move all the way to the back as it was NOT a family friendly atmosphere. My husband went back to get our sofas later but they’d been stolen...
We had two day tickets and really didn’t want to come back the next day but we did. And we stayed at the back. This was no better. It seemed more crammed and hectic than the Saturday. SO MANY PEOPLE. You could not move. People walking over our picnic blanket whilst baby lay on it. We tried to section a little space so baby could roll around, they walked over bags, pushed the Pram out of the way and trampled through. We left early.
What an absolute nightmare. So unsafe. We will definitely not be returning.
The bands however - they were fab. What a great line up, organisation however was a complete joke. Totally chaotic and unsafe.
Is this a fucking windup, the festival was a fucking disaster from start to finish, The bar and food offerings was embarrassingly inadequate, a bunch of primary school children could organise a better event than this. What the fuck happened this used to be an amazing weekend
Any news on those refunds?
Me cyant wait bruv
Didn't like the fairground element. Made the other areas much more crowded than previous years. Nice food on Sunday but no decent drink stands.
Woolwich common mate 🤣
Wanted to go on this, but decided we'd spent enough money already. Masterclass in rinsing people unfortunately. Bands were great, sound was sometimes extremely poor. Seemed like everyone bought a chillsac for £35 making it near impossible to negotiate your way to the horrendous queues. Was told Prosecco wasn't on offer, but it was for almost £30 a plastic bottle. Staff didn't know what was going on. An experience but not one I wish to repeat 😢
Piss poor planning. But there again they sold out by getting Live Nation or whoever it was to put on a money grabbing event for them.
One of the best festivals I've attended, great line up and a great experience 10 out of 10 😍
We couldn’t get in the tent it was rammoed, shame I’ve seen them before and they were brilliant!
Incognito and Soul II Soul should have been on the main stage.
They were amazing!! I could have gone home a happy girl after their set but glad I stayed for the rest of the evening.
If only they were on the main stage...
This was wonderful 💕
Best set of the weekend by a country mile
My highlight of the weekend. It was quite special..
Absolutely brilliant as others have said many of the Groups on stage 2 should have been on the main stage
Incognito and BNH was what I came for
I had tears running down my face !!! So much good energy ! Thank you 🙏
We were gutted to have missed Incognito as we were stuck in an queue for food just outside the Tent for the entire set.
First time seeing them live and they didn't disappoint, they were amazing 💕🎶
They were amazing 💕 ... but totally agree they should have been on the main stage !!
They were incredible!
Absolutely Superb! I'm somewhere in that crowd, smiling and enjoying each moment!
one of the best moment ONBlackheath
So great! Happy anniversary Incognito!!!!
Absolutely quality 🙌🏻
Amazing loved them!!!!!
I don’t know because the tiny tent was so rammed inside and with an edge outside of 20 people deep we couldn’t get in to see them!!! Should have been on the main stage ... and shame on you for omitting the mi-soul tent!!!
Couldn’t get near it as they were playing in such a tiny tent. Was looking forward to seeing them but bad planning ruined it for most ppl. Refunds should be issued.
Soul II Soul should have been main stage....& Aswad, flipping brilliant x
One of the (many) highlights of the weekend
