James surpassed expectations they were amazing!
James were fantastic….
She should have been on the Lake stage and confidence man on the Obelisk. Same with Sunday night, Japandroids on the Obelisk and Alt J on the Sunrise!!!!
Had to be James for me!! Couldn’t believe Solange got Obelisk over them. Strange choice!!
I saw her and she was shocking wish I had seen james now
We were excited to see her but left after 20 mins and went to James ( who were AWESOME 👏🏻). Just a bit too low key and mellow for a headline act for me.

Watched for a couple of songs but really she didn’t cut it James delivered and should have been main stage.
Come on Latitude, stop pretending! The arena was sparsely populated (probably the quietest I have ever seen it). I watched about 6 songs, then decided to seek out something more interesting. Couldn’t get in to see James (speaks volumes – see othe comments on this thread)! Nothing wrong with Solange, but totally inappropriate for Friday night headliner – Sunday afternoon maybe! Please don’t disappoint us like this again!
She was awesome!! Her album is one of the best of the last decade. Never liked James. Boring and glad they were in the tent.
Music’s a strange thing – brings some together, divides others. I started with James, tried to enjoy it but couldn’t believe how far up their own arses they were. Where’s the humility and wisdom you hope to see when ageing rock stars approach their dotage? Even if everyone thought they should be headline that night they didn’t really need to keep saying it themselves. Pathetic. Then went to see Solange. Wonderful artiste – but not a headliner for me. Ended up at my fav spot- BBC Introducing. Love it in the woods.

James were huge. Stop trying to be cleverer than your audience, Latitude. Appreciate what folk want in a headliner – big anthems, charisma, a real show. The Killers, for example, ticked every single box. Solange (and Alt J for that matter) completely kill any late night vibe.

Didn’t bother with Solange . Not sure where I went during that period 😂 However I loved Alt J when they played .

Watched James who were excellent and should of been headlining on the Obelisk. There would of been a huge crows for that as the tent was rammed. Latitude was a great festival but really needs to go all out for 3 headline acts. The Killers but alt-j and Solange ?!!! I realise music is all about opinions but get 3 headline acts and you’ve smashed it.

Curiosity got the better of me and I took a wander up from the BBC6 tent. Sorry but I’m afraid she wasn’t for me … and clearly most of the rest of the Friday crowd too which was about the same size as it was at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. I’d call that a failed experiment. Let’s put it behind us now though … and never speak of it again.

Latitude Festival 2019 can we have your comments on the above. We said this would happen, it did happen. The Obelisk was the quietest it’s ever been and the BBC was the busiest its ever been. Just as everyone predicted. Are you going to at least you made a mistake? Rather than make out with this post that it was a huge success. Anyone who was there can tell you. Please say something!
