Firing up your imagination and getting creative is a big part of the Camp Bestival 2017 experience. From dressing up as Pop Stars & Rock Stars, getting your glitter on in Art Town and woodworking in Spinney Hollow to awesomely entertaining circus acrobats, wondrous theatre shows and the simple joys of cavorting with your nearest and dearest, the possibilities for creative play are everywhere in the tenth anniversary festi-holiday wonderland. So, delve into the innovative and inspirational and get creative and be free! And once your inner-artist is content, grab your dancing shoes and join in for record breaking disco ball action, lots more DJ love and fantastic live music with some proper pop stars too, from 27-30 July at Lulworth Castle.

We are also hiring a ruddy huge crane to bring you the World’s Largest Disco Ball, and not just with any old DJs, but with a stellar cast of late night party starters from Sara Cox and the Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boon to our mate Bez and a brand-new teen night too… see you at the castle”.
He’s the king of kids’ TV when it comes to things to make and do, so the festival team are super-excited to announce that Mister Maker will be making his debut at this year’s Camp Bestival. A wellspring of inventiveness and a master of colour and shapes, Mister Maker is a sure-fire source of inspiration when it comes to creative play.
Camp Bestival are also delighted to reveal The Bear & the Piano live in the Dingly Dell.
Winner of 2016’s Waterstones Children’s Book Prize for Best Illustrated Book, don’t miss this series of magical storytelling sessions, craft and musical workshops based on David Litchfield’s beautiful story of friendship.
The event will also have jaw-dropping spectacles including their amorous automaton, The Love Bot, the return of the World’s Biggest Bouncy Castle and the Bestival Inflatable Church & Wedding Disco. And there will be craftsmanship and wood carving galore in Spinney Hollow, bugtastic acrobatics as The Insect Circus presents the Greatest Show on Earth, and the ramshackle wonders of Caravanserai.
You’ll be able to build your magnum opus and design the ultimate glam get-up when you get involved with Art Town: Pop Stars & Rock Stars Creations. And you can marvel at Marawa’s Majorettes and join in off-the-wall fun and games with the Bestival Bluecoats. With so much more to explore throughout the weekend make sure you join in with all the creativity you can muster.
As part of their tenth anniversary celebrations Camp Bestival are thrilled that one of their biggest and best ever record-breaking creations, The World’s Largest Disco Ball will be coming to Lulworth. But that’s not all, they’ll also have uninhibited entertainment at a brand new dance destination bathed in our mirrored globe’s glittering light with a series of ace Big Discos.
So, don’t miss the daily Kids’ Disco every evening, with Rob da Bank & friends getting the tots rocking. And there will be some proper late night disco action for mums and dads too. Friday night’s Big Disco action will come courtesy of Sara Cox presents Just Can’t Get Enough 80s with a luxuriance of big-haired dancefloor gems, and Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boon with his Big Boonarmy Bash playing hits from the cream of the indie scene. Saturday will see misunderstood broadcasting genius Barry Peters (AKA The Cuban Brothers’ main man Miguel) taking yacht-rock to improbable new heights with Halifax Hospital Radio Live, while Sunday’s refulgent rave-up will have everyone throwing shapes to Happy Monday’s legend Bez and his Indie Disco to Hacienda House Set. And making sure there’s dancefloor action for everyone, Camp Bestival also has a Teen Big Disco Party – featuring grime, hip-hop, rock and pop with some special guest DJs.
Upping Camp Bestival’s tenth anniversary dance game big time, the event will also have booty shaking sets from Eats Everything who will be going on an old skool tip, bass-led grooves from Shadow Child and Greco Roman Soundsystem, while hardcore behaviour is to be expected from Raindance who will be winding up the whistle posse with Altern-8, Daniel Billy Bunter, Shades of Rhythm, DJ Faydz, Liquid, Rachel Wallace and 2 Bad Mice. Plus, there will be hip-swinging manoeuvres from Lady Jane Bongo, Jim8track, DJ Dapper Dan and Dr DJ & Bollywood Dancers.
She’s queen of the charts having just spent nine weeks on the top spot with Rockabye, her collaboration with Clean Bandit. Anne-Marie will be helping to celebrate Camp Bestival’s tenth anniversary. An undeniable superstar, Anne-Marie has a history of blowing crowds away whenever she plays, so hold on to your hats when she hits the Castle stage for what will be an unmissable set of sublime pop music! And ensuring there’s plenty more live music across the weekend there will also be performances from Sheffield quintet Reverend and The Makers, sea shanty super stars Skinny Lister, tastemakers’ top pick Louis Berry, Brit-reggae quartet The Skints, The Voice star Laura Oakes, exotic psychedelia from Flamingods, the veritable heart and soul of the 80s T’Pau and Liverpool’s finest The Christians.
From artistry and imagination to rocking out and cutting loose, they’ve got it all at Camp Bestival, the ultimate family festival.
