Latest update from Into the Wild
The UK creative arts & music scene makes this country one of the most vibrant & exciting places to live in the world. Most people who work in these industries have received little to no government assistance during this pandemic due to most being self employed and working in the gig economy.
So the government has stepped up to now wipe out the club, festival and arts culture so that all these creative workers through no fault of their own can't work or receive help like almost every other industry. They have now said our industries are 'unviable' and people with in them should retrain.
Imagine a world where all your favourite event spaces are no more. Where every other vocation gets help but not the DJs, artists, promoters, riggers, festival workers, performers etc who all fall by the wayside.
And all you are left with is a world of plastic chain pubs, bottle service clubs, corporate festivals and soulless music as no one can afford to make the real shit anymore. What a grey new boring world that would be.
