Into the Wild Festival news: The Healing Power of Gardens: Oliver Sacks on the Psychological and Physiological Consolations of Nature

Latest update from Into the Wild

I cannot say exactly how nature exerts its calming and organizing effects on our brains, but I have seen in my patients the restorative and healing powers of nature and gardens, even for those who are deeply disabled neurologically. In many cases, gardens and nature are more powerful than any medication.

The Healing Power of Gardens: Oliver Sacks on the Psychological and Physiological Consolations of Nature

It’s all very sad watching things go Back to normal!! I wish they would listen as this planet will just kick us off if we don’t treat it well 🙁

What is the point of going on about a few trees, when twenty years ago Sting,Peter Gabriel ,and others told us that the amazon was disappearing at the rate of 4 football fields a day ,and what’s happened,, no policy just more tv presenters making careers off of the earth being in crisis ,,the care taker doesn’t want the patient to get well or out of a job ,,,you see it World Wide ,,,,,Web wisdom of sound bites ,,,out of prospective with real problem ,,,

I look at the roads now compared to a couple of months ago, no we haven't learned, and I guess we never will. Personally I don't think there is enough in the media to remind us that we could make better choices, and the impact our wrong choices have on our wildlife and our environment, our home.

It seems not....

Unfortunately the planet is over populated .. you can’t grow food on concrete. And with our diet changing to a more plant based system even more land is needed. With out fertiliser from our animals. We would slowly lose the rich nutrients in the earth . Needing more land to grow the same amount. And we would only have seasonal fruit and vegetables, if we preferred not to import our food. This virus is the planet trying to cull the human race . Big families should be a thing of the past . Especially when our life expectancies are so much longer. Sorry but it’s the only way . And be kind to our neighbour and the planet. 🙂

Ellie Eaton so true !

The Microbe should be a lesson, but politics has not learned from it, at the expense of humanity 😢

Great words, Chief Dan George💗

Sue Cowie. Such a different perspective

To be fair the Native American Indians did a fair bit of terrotorial fighting before the white man came along. It's just what tribes did.

So great for all of them. I hope their future will be bright,it must be overwhelming for them...

Amazing to see that we still have "humanity" and people in high positions to help others with their resources are not selfish, now if only the top 1% would distribute their wealth to the poor we would live in a different kind of world. I guess it starts with having a soul and a big heart and not everyone has that today. Dog eat Dog doesn't work.

May he and others like him get all the kindness back in double❤️
