Latest update from Into the Wild

This is a beautiful weekend, sharing the sublime Dzogchen (great perfection) teachings from Tibet.

This summer retreat is a lovely break from everything and open to anyone, no matter what your financial situation, so if you fancy a sublime resource for daily life, come along.

2 weeks to go for this wonderful summer camp, if you want to come along to a really beautiful weekend then take this chance, it really is worth while.

A weekend retreat with James Low in the beautiful grounds of Emerson College on the edge of the Ashdown forest. This is a beautiful summer retreat potentially of benefit to anyone. A true treasure in this fleeting life.

This is a wonderful chance to take a break from the endless distractions of life and simply be at ease, relaxed and present in the beautiful grounds of Emerson College.

James is a wonderful teacher, who shares the ancient wisdom of Dzogchen (great perfection) teachings from Tibet, in a way that is free from dogma and cultural baggage, that makes it accessible to our everyday lives. This is not self help or new age philosophy, but simply a way to meet life each moment, bringing a freedom from stress and anxiety and hopefully less neurosis.
.
We aim to fill up the retreat and make it accessible to everyone, so if finance is a problem, send us an email and we can work with whatever you can afford. Teachings such as these are timeless and a beautiful treasure for both living and dying well

"Your love of possession is your disease."

The great Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux holy man Sitting Bull resisted forced settlement on reservations in the 1870s. In 1877, after he defeated General Custer at Little Bighorn, he decided to migrate to Canada. He had mixed feelings about such migration as he pronounced the following words:

“Behold my brothers, the Spring has come; the earth has received the embraces of the sun and we shall soon see the results of that love.

Every seed is awakened and so has all animal life. It is through this mysterious power that we too have our being, and we therefore yield to our neighbors, even our animal neighbours, the same right as ourselves, to inhabit this land.

Yet, hear me, people, we have now to deal with another race – small and feeble when our fathers first met them but now great and overbearing. Strangely enough they have a mind to till the soil and the love of possession is a disease with them. These people have made many rules that the rich may break but the poor may not. They take their tithes from the poor and weak to support the rich and those who rule.

They claim this mother of ours, the earth, for their own and fence their neighbors away; they deface her with their buildings and their refuse. The nation is like a spring freshet that overruns its banks and destroys all that are in its path.

We cannot dwell side by side. Only seven years ago we made a treaty by which we were assured that the buffalo country should be left to us forever. Now they threaten to take that away from us. My brothers, shall we submit or shall we say to them: “First kill me before you take possession of my Fatherland…Your love of possession is your disease."

I Love the Look in this proud mans face A Beautiful picturexx

“Your love of possession is your disease”. It’s a powerful message. And the result - Look what happened 🤷🏼‍♂️. The journey of life takes us from a place of Nature through the ego and our troubles and then back to Nature. Life is a circular navigation - we eventually arrive back at the place we started only to realise our growth wasn’t a circle but rather a spiral which had taken us to the next layer or dimension of life beyond the original circle. The key sits within removing the noise and getting back to who you really are. #lovegaia

Jeez, can you just email me the rest Brent Holbrook 😂

They gave them a dollar an acre if the Indians didn't take it was claimed anyway.Until we know the past we cannot understand the present.

Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee is an unbelievably heartbreaking book, but a must read so people are aware of histories untold in common histories

Wise words . Before his time !!

, true words of wisdom

The world would be a much better place if Native Americans were the majority and not the minority

Dear friends,

We weave and move through life imagining it will somehow last forever. Even though people disappear, people die, we imagine it will never happen to us, or at least when it does, we will be old and we will fall asleep like the movies. The truth is, this is very rarely the case.

Our dear friend, has just been given the words none of us want to hear. The ravens call to the otherworld. It is not romantic, it is fierce and unforgiving. Yes maybe there will be a miracle, we all wish that from our deepest hearts. Yet one has to be with what is and not hide from the vast emptiness, where we all truly dwell.

We would like to make this journey as decent and caring as we can, so a friend has set up this page, as he can not work any longer, the pain is too much. If you can help in any way, however small or large, thank you so much, may your kind and vast heart be forever honoured in the halls of Valhalla.

Awesome idea... lots of patience and time on both sides paid off... well done... Father and daughter bonding even if only for a minute or two a week? Is she sad I wonder? Or did she sometimes get tired of the routine?
