”Dictatorships are lasting a lot longer than they used to. The last 40 years, they used to last only 14 years or so. Today they last a little bit over 20 years.” - Natasha Lindstaedt

On last year’s Heartland executive director of EuroMed Rights Rasmus Boserup met with professor and expert on authoritarian regimes, international development and third world politics Natasha Lindstaedt to discuss the future of democracies and autocracies. It is not 28 weeks ago. It is something they pretend will go ahead, which in all likelihood (sadly) it won't. This makes adverts like this both unsavory and saddening. #Heartlandfestival: please react ...

Seriously. You'r selling early bird tickets for a festival you know will not happen.

''I think literature have fundamentally been about the experience of connecting with other people who are not present.'' - Jonathan Franzen

There is a new episode out of Heartland Podcast. It's a conversation where Franzen attempts to answer and discuss the question of whether or not literature can survive technology. The conversation contains everything from Franzen’s passion for birds to climate change and how all of this is connected to the way we use and consume through technology. Find the episode here:
