Three significant additions to HEARTLAND TALKS:

We are immensely proud to welcome the world-renowned Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek to Heartland! He will in an interview with Danish journalist Adam Holm examine the relationship between sex and consumerism of late modernity and help us reflect on how sex is linked to e.g. contemporary culture, film, leisure, adds and new technology.

The legendary German under-cover journalist Gunter Walraff and the Danish author and playwright Kristian Husted will discuss ‘Who has the rights to human rights?’ in a conversation moderated by German journalist Marc-Christoph Wagner.

‘What do we need to understand about sexual violence?’ This Heartland Talk features one of Europe’s leading cultural historians and feminist researchers Mithu Sanyal and one of Denmark’s most competent researchers of sexual violence psychologist Bodil Pedersen in a conversation moderated by Danish journalist Anja Bo.

It is not 28 weeks ago. It is something they pretend will go ahead, which in all likelihood (sadly) it won't. This makes adverts like this both unsavory and saddening. #Heartlandfestival: please react ...

Seriously. You'r selling early bird tickets for a festival you know will not happen.

''I think literature have fundamentally been about the experience of connecting with other people who are not present.'' - Jonathan Franzen

There is a new episode out of Heartland Podcast. It's a conversation where Franzen attempts to answer and discuss the question of whether or not literature can survive technology. The conversation contains everything from Franzen’s passion for birds to climate change and how all of this is connected to the way we use and consume through technology. Find the episode here:
